CineLog Convert

CineLog Convert is a LOG conversion.

It will take your base LOG, for example, Sony SLog3 and convert it into the closest representation to Arri Log C, now giving you an Arri Log C image file to grade on, essentially it is a pretty accurate colour science conversion.

How did we manage to achieve this?
We were fortunate enough to have an assortment of cinema cameras and hybrid consumer cameras in one location for 24 hours.

Red Komodo
Sony A7 Series
Panasonic Lumix S series
Even an Apple iPhone 15 pro with a PL Mount cage.

We had one single PL Mount lens which we mounted to all cameras in a controlled lighting studio and began recording footage of a Calibrated colour chart with ALL the listed cameras, in All ISO ranges, f-stop ranges, White Balances and shutter angles in LOG.
We used the Arri Alexa Mini as our base camera footage and ran it through our system which would analyse the individual Hex Colour codes of the Arri in Log C 3.
We would then do the same with all the other cameras and take note of the differences in code variations within LOG before a Rec709 Conversion has taken place, The differences were calculated and the codes were transferred meaning our Sony Slog footage will now see green the same way Arri LOG C 3 see's Green.
Of course, each Sensor is manufactured differently by different manufacturers but the processing of the camera's colour readout is now possible to be replicated and that's how we can finally deliver CineLog Convert.
